Welcome, green ones.
How about a riddle to start us off?
Low to the ground I quietly grow,
In fields where sun and soft winds blow.
Three small leaves are my common attire,
But a fourth appears for those who aspire.
This month, I’ll be exploring with a plant of a more clever and revealing nature.
The plant of the month for March is Clover.

The Journey (Linked Post)
A paid offering to include a Shamanic Journey and meditation with Clover
Clover is a plant that I have never worked with… or so I thought when I first began writing about it.
A plant that is always underfoot, but often gets overlooked, and this is intentional medicine. I’ll explain more as we dive deeper.
As I ventured further, I began to remember all of the ways I have and continue to work with clover.
I literally have a Celtic clover tattoo… and forgot.
I remember making necklaces and crowns out of white clover as a kid and running barefoot on its soft, pillowy stems.
I’ve dried them out and used them in manifestation candles.
And they can pop through the cracks in the most unlikely of places. Sometimes resulting in a bardic rendition.
Clovers and shamrocks, often linked to Irish-lore, leprechauns, and luck…
Reveal hidden details and illumination for when you get stuck
The lucky four-leaf clover keeps us on our toes…
Meticulously hiding in plain sight where the three-leaf grows
Try as you might, you may never see
Unless you connect all the paths to one, from three
What the hell is she talking about? Who knows?
Let’s continue.
The Medicine
Cleverness : Revealing : Protection : Hex and Curse Breaking : Transmutation : Attraction and Repelling
I sat in meditation with clover, and the energy seemed to bounce around. I compare it to trying to catch a hummingbird or trying to hold on to a slippery fish.
I thought to myself… wow… clover is tricky.
Then I heard, “I prefer clever.”
Clover is a plant that provides protection. When dark magic or poo-poo energy is thrown your way, call on clover for protection. Its magical properties are quite clever, and it is adept at weeding out falsehoods that we have held on to.
The shadows and things that might arise that we don’t know what to do with can be offered up to clover to be examined and transmuted.
The energy dances and dances… until its opponent becomes confused and doesn’t know what to do. It can seem quite silly, but very intentional in its approach.
When there are no cords connecting us to negative energies, there is nothing to hold on to, and they can be cleared away more easily.
Clover acts as the light in counter-spells and banishment.
I could sense it is on the far end of the spectrum of light and energy. It can act as a magnet and attract, but it is equally effective in repelling.
If you tend to have scattered energy, its magnetic pull can bring you back to the center.
Clover can reveal where we have strayed too far from our path, chasing shinier things in the distance. It can give you laser focus and point you in the right direction to getting back on track.
It reminds us that pursuit is good, but remember to bring it back to a full circle, taking time to integrate, or you can get lost in the chase.
When taking a walk outside, you might notice that, like many other plants, clover has lookalikes. Mimics or impostors. Clever clover can reveal where we may have taken on beliefs or even selves that are not us. We often refer to these parts that look, sound, and act like us as “not you’s”. Chameleons that are similar to us in energy, but not quite.
Let clover reveal to you where you have become immersed in finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
The Roots
Instead of writing a history of clover you could find on Google, I aligned with its energetic roots and medicine through storytelling.
I spent a good duration of our meditation trying to figure out who this sneaky little being was who kept popping into focus and quickly disappearing.
I would choose a thread to go down… and then a fiery little creature with a crooked smile would appear.
Extremely familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on who it was.
It wasn’t until an hour or two after my exploration that I realized.
Rumpelstiltskin.
The Shrek version, who tricks Shrek into going back in time and choosing to be a real Ogre. Though I was shown this version, the lesson of Rumpelstiltskin remains the same.
You can read Rumpelstiltskin here: Rumpelstiltskin
In the original Brothers Grimm version, Rumpelstiltskin, the clever trickster, offers the poor miller’s daughter a deal to spin her jewelry into gold. The King, believing her to be spinning gold from hay, makes her Queen. But only after she promises Rumpelstiltskin her firstborn child.
Unless she can guess his name, only then will she be free of her debt.
This tale embodies the energy of the chase. Rumpelstiltskin, being the one to dangle the carrot, so to speak. Keeping her freedom just out of reach.
In this case, the Queen takes matters into her own hands. She chooses to go to his home, where she learns his true name, thus releasing her from the bargain.
Here are a few lines from the story that stand out to me to share.
“On the third day the messenger came back again and said, “ I have not been able to find a single new name, but I came to a high mountain at the edge of the forest, where the fox and the hare bid each other goodnight, there I saw a little house, and before the house a fire was burning and round the fire quite a ridiculous little man was jumping: he hopped upon one leg, and shouted-
Today I bake, tomorrow brew.
The next I’ll have the young Queen’s child.
Ha! Glad I am that no one knew.
The Rumpelstiltskin I am styled.”
In this story, the clever fox, known for chasing the hare meet on the mountain. Mountains are places known to embody enlightenment or a journey. Indicating that it is possible for peace and balance to exist between extremes. Perhaps all that is needed to achieve this is higher ground.
Interestingly, Rumpelstiltskin became so furious that the Queen guessed his name that he stomped a foot and split himself in half at the end.
Funny how when things lose their power over us, the trash takes itself out.
I noticed similar themes in the story of The Gingerbread Man.
The cookie who leads the farm and its animals on a great chase.
And the hero in this tale? Depending on who you ask, of course.
The fox.
Who gobbles him up at the end by tricking him into riding on his back to cross the water.
Then there is the folk tale of The Firebird.
While there are many different variations, I read the one I had available on my bookshelf. The Golden Bird, written by the Brothers Grimm.
You can read it here: https://www.grimmstories.com/en/grimm_fairy-tales/the_golden_bird
And guess who the guide is in this rendition? Another fox, of course.
Fascinating that a fox, known for their cleverness and wit, much like clover, is presented in all three tales.
(Unplanned, I swear.)
These stories show us that when something is just out of reach, its pursuit can become addictive.
We may give chase… but where in it have we gotten lost? Has the chase become the goal, causing us to lose sight of our initial intention?
When we chase something and never succeed in catching it, it keeps us busy. It serves as a clever distraction, preventing us from getting anything done.
Swatting at the air like a cat with a laser pointer.
Is the prize worth the chase? Thats up for you to decide.
You are both the writer and reader of your fate.
The one who weaves the tapestry and gets to experience it.
The Seeds
You can work with clover by taking time to notice.
What does clover look like? It has tiny, white chevron-like markings on the leaves. So small that you might overlook the fine detailing.
Its blooms come in pinkish, reddish, and white varieties, and they stem from the shamrock-shaped leaves that we see most often.
A soft place to land and a vital contributor to pollinators, which include bees and butterflies.
Clover reminds us that by beeing more observant, we can notice things we might otherwise miss.
And this opens up a whole new world.

The Growth
Three Clover Spell
Find a patch and pick three clovers.
When you find three that feel right, place them in a jar and put them on your windowsill where sunlight gathers.
Incantation:
Clovers, clovers in this jar
Align me with love, both near and far
Deliver it to the forefront of my mind’s eye
There I’ll find what secrets lie
This spell will help you with manifesting, while simultaneously revealing what is keeping you in the dark.
Note: When harvesting materials outside, make sure to ask the plant for permission first, and don’t take more than is necessary.
Example: Instead of taking a birch branch from a tree, you might look around to see what has been shed naturally.
If you are granted permission, it will feel like an internal yes. A no, will feel like no. You can use your discernment for what feels right. If you feel the answer is no, you can look around and find a new spot.
I hope you enjoyed this exploration. It was eye-opening for me, to say the least. And quite a lot of information to take in.
I felt like I was gaining multiple perspectives at once.
Though that could be part of the point.
Maybe all perspectives and paths can reach a balanced focus, right in the center of all things.
No matter how far you venture off your path to forage in the woods, you can always find your way back to center by following the breadcrumbs.
Or maybe on your journey, you were always meant to get a bit turned around.
There is a lesson in all things.
If you are drawn to linger a while longer and dig deeper, you can find a Meditation and Shamanic Journey video with Clover in the paid offering linked here:
If this is the end of the road for you today, thank you for being here on this journey with me.
Until our paths meet again…

I loved reading this, thank you Lindsay 🙏
I have a lot of clover on my plot and it was lovely to learn more about it's energy. I do feel that clover's message is very timely for me right now. 🍀
